Where have Kerala's Hijras gone? - Article in The Hindu
10.12.08 (1:31 pm)   [edit]
Sudhir, a friend of mine who is in the media sent me a thought provoking article that was published in The Hindu yesterday. It is about the state of Transgenders in Kerala.

Life is definitely difficult for the transwomen there and many of them have fled from the state. Read it here : Where have Kerala's Hijras gone?

http://www.hindu.com/2008/10/11/stories/20 08101155051300.htm" title="http://www.hindu.com/2008/10/11/stories/20 08101155051300.htm" target="_blank"http://www.hindu.com/2008/10/...

This month I will be starting my campaign for social justice for Transwomen in Kerala.

My friend Srijith
10.08.08 (2:18 pm)   [edit]
Srijith is my darling friend in Chennai. Whenever we are together we do a lot of productive work. He is a best friend to me. He cares for me immensely. This pic was taken day before yesterday in my office. He clicked this one using his mobile cam and I did the filter effects using adobe.

Srijith is a passionate theatre person and has performed on many plays. He is going to direct a play in which we both will do major leads coz we are the only leads. :) It is a two act play.

Selvi and I.. - Publication corrections
10.03.08 (1:26 pm)   [edit]
In the Ananda Vikatan story about me and selvi, a few facts were left out and there were few misquotes I never shared with the reporter who interviewed me. 1. I never said I wanted to claim selvi. 2. I never said I had only Rs.500 and paid it from my pocket. The money was not mne and was given to me by Aurelio. 3. Selvi does not call me 'Mother' or 'Sister'. The facts which were left out: 1. While rescuing Selvi, two of my friends Gnanavel and Shankar were equally putting in efforts and they were not acknowledged by AV. I was so sorry for this. 2. The girl grew up in Baby Sara home and they were very much the takecarers of the baby. It was they, who gave her a new life - while I only rescued the girl with my friends. I keep getting calls from people who misunderstood that I have adopted Selvi. No, not at this moment. Moreover, I am so sorry for Mr. Karthik who is upset over the story misfacts. I have previously and clearly have stated everything in this blog. If the media gives a different story, I can not be responsible.

I appreciate Ananda Vikatan for their positive portrayals on Transgender womne. They are very respectful publication. Sometimes the press adds spice to some news ad articles. They did the same to me.
