I love Auroville
09.21.07 (11:43 am)   [edit]
Auroville is a very special place in the world. I am so proud to be here. It is a spectacular mix of all cultures and all people.I am absolutely happy about how this city and the people living here, have adopted me...

Auroville is one of the Utopian cities in the world. I am so proud that it is in Tamilnadu. :)

Dear Kalki,

I admire your openness and your courage to try to help the TG-community in your land. I hope you will make a difference for them, and that you might help the people of your country in understanding the problem. And not only them, I think the world as a whole can do with some more understanding and acceptance, in this matter as well as in other ones.

I came across your blog because I am interested in becoming an Aurovilian.
Since you were born (I assume) in Tamil Nadu, close to Auroville, it may be something quite easy for you, but for me as a European, it is a big step.
You mention your move into Auroville only in a sporadic way, and I understand moving to Auroville will be a minor issue when you are in the midst of being given a new body!

But would you mind writing a bit about how you decided to go live in Auroville, and how you were able to do so? The info on the Auroville-site makes it look as if you need a big amount of cash to be accepted and able to come and live in Auroville.

I hope you don't mind me 'diversing' you from your main topic. I am trying to get all info I can about being accepted as an Aurovilian nowadays, and apart from the Auroville-site, there is not much info.

I wish you all the love, warmth and undertanding you need to injoy every second of your new life.
I don't think you need anymore courage, or do you?

Lots of tenderness,
Lieve
Belgium

Dear Lieve,

Thank you very much for your appreciation and support. As you said, my major issue has always been my transition and the life then, now and after.

Auroville has indeed adopted me beautifully. I remember the lines in its vision statement "...live in peace and progressive harmony above all creeds, all politics and all nationalities. The purpose of Auroville is to realise human unity. Human unity implies the establishment of a unified and harmonious society which yet allows and encourages the rich diversity of mankind to flourish in complete freedom. "

I believe, Auroville had been shown to me by God. How I got my first introducton to Auroville and my first ever trip to Auroville is all a very fascinating tale. That I shall tell you later.

For an Indian, and being a Tamil, it isn't that difficult to be in Auroville for a long time. I can still be here around, without being an Aurovillian. For a westerner, it is indeed difficult. Indian or a Westerner isn't that important. Whats important is what we manifest for this wonderful city on Earth. Auroville is Utopia.

You do need financial support, but if you do have the vision and talent - you will have your own place in Auroville. People are very friendly, tolerent, understanding and helpful. You don't need huge amounts of money.. But you must have money that could support you atleast for an year's time of living.

Auroville is for everyone good at heart.

Lovingly,

Kalki
