Meeting Sunil Panth - South Asia's first openly gay MP
11.16.08 (7:26 pm)   [edit]

Kalki and Rose meet Nepal MP Sunil Pant

I and Rose met Mr. Sunil Panth at the Sexual Minorities meeting organised in Chennai by Sangama, the NGO from Bangalore. Mr. Panth is a very intelligent person, educated and wise. He is South Asia's first openly gay MP from Nepal and a social worker. During our conversation with him, he insisted that people like me and Rose should enter politics and change the situation that is prevailing here in India for the sexual minorities. He also said that he will support in our political endeavors.

We will enter politics for sure .. Unless people like us and the others who are educated and open about their sexualities and gender identities enter politics and become a part of the law makers and influencers, it will be a difficult path for the LGBT community in India.

Hi, your decision to be active politicians is very wise and enter the political scenario of our country and influence the decision making authorities to implement gender equalities rights. I think, there is a political party had formed tg's fraction and that fraction presided by Ramya (Ref.: puthuvaayana mag.)and you know india's first tg MLA has entered in assembly@M.P. in 1996,her name was sonia. Anyway, i have pleasure on your decision and i think the main stream political parties will admit your decision. With best wishes and hope you will be adorn the chair of the MLA,MP'S...and work for the people whose suffered all kind unequalities among the main stream TG's,Women,Childrens,Old aged persons,Orphans etc. Thanking you anu
